I just bought a 2g turbo eclipse. At first when you start it up it makes alot of racket, but when I start driving it goes away. There is also some vibration but not like rod knock. I don't even think she has crank walk either. she smoothes out really nice when I am past idle. I mean she is nice. I love my new ride. Any help would be great. She has exactly 113407 miles on her. I almost think its a bad water pump or something. The noise is coming from the timing side. I want her right before I finish my 1g gst so at least I have a really nice daily driver. Thanks in advance. :dsm: :rocks:

Either my waterpump/alt/powersteering is noisy at idle and goes away when cruising but never expereinced any vibration. Try taking the alt belt off and running the car without it for a few minutes. I did this on my car to determine if the noise was coming from somewhere important and it was quiet and smooth without. Wouldn't run without the waterpump for to long for obvious reasons.
