I have a 95 gsx with AEM EMS, i just swapped the 7 bolt for a 6 bolt block, I had already had a 1 g head on it with the 1g cas wired in and coil wires switched and ran for a long time, now i put in the 6 bolt and car wont start. I have fuel spark and compression are good, all timing marks are perfect. When turning car over all it does is crank and sometimes let out a really loud backfire. Any help would be great
Thanks Tony

Timing possibly out 180*???

Well all the timing marks are lined up and I tried the cas both ways and the same thing. Im going to try and get a different laptop to link to the ems mine is all messed up and wont connect so, I guess thats all I can do for now IDK
thanks
Tony

Have you pull the plugs to see what conditions they're in? If they're soaked, I would double check your EMS setup. I can't comment further on EMS as I have little knowledge of it.

you might want to check the order for the spark plug wires if they are wrong u will get backfire because i had that problem before

I had a similar problem with my 92 tsi. I redid the timing on it and the little metal plate that goeas on the crank pulley, that seperates the balance shaft belt and timing belt, well I put that on backward, so when I did the timing I lined all the marks up and everything was perfect. I tried to start it for the first time and it cranked and I got a backfire, and thats pretty much all it would do. A stupid mistake but makes a big problem. With that plate on backwards it makes your timing 90 deg off. I bent the hell out of all the valve and got a new head and put it all back together and she fired right up. (cant get too excited when these DSM's run good cause give enough time and something else will go wrong) LOL
Anyway I thought i would throw that too you in case you might have taken that littlesilver plate off.

Good Luck Man,
Anthony

On the coil pack...
Spark plug 1 to 3.
Plug 2 to 4.
Let me know if that works or not.
Nevermind, I'm a moron.

Let me ask you this,
How do you know you're getting spark and fuel?
How did you test this stuff out?
