do i need a new wastegate???

when i start moving my cars fine till around 3000 rpm when the turbo starts to spool up and then the car runs slower then anything ive ever seen. when im in neutral and i rev it the wastegate does not move at all. so i think its sending constant boost into the injectors which is to much and it runs sluggish. i think its the wastegate that is not working and sending constant boost into the engine and none to the exhaust. does that sound like the problem?

You need to run a boost leak test.
Make sure you've got NGK BPR6ES spark plugs gapped at .028"
OR,
Your wastegate is not sealed during normal driving causing most of your exhaust gases to bypass your turbine.
You don't seem to have a good understanding of the way the turbocharger system works, so I recommend taking it to a professional. I'm not trying to be rude but I don't want you to damage your vehicle.

my wastegate is really rusted... it sat in some mans drive way for a year and half... I think it actually might be rusted shut. When i drive my car, i cant really boost it or the car jerks kind of and doesnt want to go fast... I have to drive with out using boost which is basically impossible almost when trying to keeep up with traffic.

Ignoring what I said about my car, Is that even possible? if so, what would happen if you try to drive a car with a rusted wastegate? Mark
