alright well last time i remember i drove my car and boom their went my motor. i needed to have it rebuilt with almost all valves bent. So i took it to my mechanic. i got the car back and ive driven it for about almost 1,200 miles without gunning it. well a couple of days ago i was on the freeway going 80 mph on 5th gear. Anyway i looked up and saw my speedo going down so i gave it more gas and it kept going down. so i downshifted to 4th and it started to die out. i drove the car to a rest stop that was just up ahead and put it on neutral...it died out. looked up at my tempeture and it was barely going over the half way mark. i popped the hood and my top radiator hose was three times its size. i backed up and went to my trunk to get a few tools and boom. their went the hose. now i replaced it put some water on the radiator. well now it turns on but it has a really bad knock. my question is could it of been bad timing :notgood: ? i have my stock 14b with a few things but im only running on my stock boost. im not sure what to think and ive had nothing but problems with my car lately. i just want to talk to the mechanic and at least have an idea of what the hell is going on. thanks you guys any comments would be good.

i forgot to mention. when i took it from my mechanic i had a belt that began to squeak. i did bother to find out where it was from and the knock seems as if its coming from on top because it has such a loud noise. one thing i can note is that when i was going to drive the car up the u-haul it was dying out so i had to give it a good amount of gas for it to get up on the ramp. that was the only other time i turned her on since their was only two of us.

Take it back to the place you paid to do your timing belt. If they screwed something up then its their fault and should be held responsible to repair it free of charge.

well lets put it this way though. only thing that isnt rebuilt was the block. what i dont want him to say is oh well the block did this so i have no fault. so id prefer to find out if in case it could of been the timing job that was done wrong and find out what i can do other than run to him and have him fix it and as im sure everyone knows have him make an excuse why it didnt work.

It sounds like the timing to me. Take it back to him, he shouldn't put up too much of fight, if he does call the local chamber of commerce on him.
