These are just some things I've come across while working under the hood..

Tell me if they are OK or not?

That looks like a plug USED to be there, and was clipped off. Should it be going into the white socket above? What is it?

Should that have a hose on it? Which hose? Is it needed??

Where does this plug go? I searched all over within wire's reach, and can't find anything..

The alternator doesn't appear to be on there so well, yet, if I push/pull on it I can't budge it. Is this normal?

This plug is right up on the passenger side of the firewall. Where should it go??!

Sorry for all the Q's.. Maybe I should just see if I can find someone in CT who knows what they're doing and help me go over it. I'd like to do all the work on it, but I need some help starting off. The driver-front wheel is clunking crazy over bumps too, but I need help diagnosing it. Anyone able to help??

Thanks for ANY and all help guys. I know I'm a pain..

According to my Haynes manual this is the A/C Coolant Temp Switch. I assume if you don't have A/C this is not needed, otherwise it should be connected. To be safe I would connect it.

This is your EGR valve. Ultimately you should have a blockoff plate installed between it anf the head, but removing the vacume line will prevent it from opening.

Looks to be the factory Boost Control Solunoid harness. The BCS acted to limit boost when low octane gas and/or severe knock was detected by the ECU. It's the first thing to remove when getting an aftermarket MBC.

Looks normal to me.

That is the auxililary tachometer connector (i.e. for setting base idle). It should not be connected to anything.

I'd strongly suggest picking up a Chiltons/Haynes manual from any Automotive Parts store as it will greatly educate you on the various parts of your new car :dsm:

That is the tensioner for the alt, the bolt should be in the U groove but it likes to slip out due to vibration. If the bolt cant be pushed back down into the slot then it is likely that the alt has moved a bit which isnt all that good for the belts and can cause failure due to improper tension.

That's the fuel pump check valve.

Na-uh :p that terminal is between the battery and firewall. The one next to the Cruise Control on (midlle of firewall) is the Tachometer terminal. Regardless neither shoudl be hooked up to anything unless you're diagnognosing somthing
