Smoke under the Hood! Help!

Ok guys so heres the story....so ive replaced my oil return line 3 times now with the stock part from mitsubishi, and a it broke for a 4th time this weekend. It keeps cracking in the flex section....so i got fed up with it and took a hack saw to it and took out the flex section...got some high temp/high pressure rubber hose and clamped it in place of the flex section. Seams to be working great! No more leaks! But anyways on to my problem....So after fixing the return line i went out to take my car for a spin to see if there were any leaks. I opened it up pretty good to about 95mph and then went home....so when i got back and out of the car i noticed the smell of oil. I popped the hoop and there i found white smoke coming from the back side of the engine. (near the fire wall) I've looked high and low through out the engine bay for a leak of any kind and cant find one...everything is bone dry...so i checked all my fluids and they are all full. So right now i have no clue what it might be. if anyone has a suggestion please let me know....

also, i was looking at it again tonite, and in the dark i could see very small sparks near the spark plug wires that run away from the valve cover. (between the cover and fuel rail) so if anyone has a suggestion about that please let me know

keep in mind this is a 1990 tsi awd

same thing is going on with me.. the leak that was there before got over the exhaust and is burnt on.. the smell and smoke will go away eventually.. or you can clean it off to help it out.. just make sure you are positive you have no leaks.. i think its just all the old oil getting burned up
 
White smoke is coolant not oil, oil burning is blueish in color, if its coming from the back side of the motor near the firewall check the hearter core hoses they like to come loose and leak. It could also be the coolant system pressurization hose on the underside of the throttle body. A leak on eithier will cause and immideate boiling of coolant and a cloud of white smoke. As for the sparks you have a bad plug wire in the set, the arcing is just the closest path to ground, replace the plug wires and the sparks will go away.
 
Ok guys i tried cleaning off the exhaust and anything else that mite be hot where there was oil....and i checked the heater hoses.....id check that coolant line, but im not sure where it is...can u help me locate it? Like i said before...i see no leaks on the ground and everything under the hood is dry....
 
Maybe an exhaust leak. And a bad turbo seal combo?
Pull off the LICP and see. Also, make sure your PCV is working properly.
 
Ok now i have smoke from the front of the car as well...near the turbo......and my car wont oost past 8psi until i hit about 5000rpm, then it will boost 10 lbs....turbo going bad????
 
tell me about it...ive wasted about 6 hours so so far just pulling shit off and looking for leaks...
 
Ive taken off the licp and found nothing...exhaust looks ok from what i see...i really do know how to check the turbo seals or the pcv...so if you could help me with that i'd look into it....also on the upside.....i went and filled up on fuel ($3.32/gal...damn oil companies) and since then my car is boosting fine now. right at 14 where i set it....idk whats up with that...also anyone know why my dipstick keeps pushing up?
 
Take a pair of pliers and crush the top of the dip stick tube slightly.

So you're boosting normally now?

yes, normal boost now, but still see smoke.....
