Got a 90 tsi awd and just rebuilt the engine again. I put it back in and hook all wires up correctly. Go to start it and nothing. I seem to have power to everything. First I thought it might have been the starter, so I bought a new one. I also replaced the ignition coil, ignition switch, power transistor, replaced every fuse I could find, new fusible link relay. Then I went and had the battery tested, it holds a charge fine. I have no idea why it will not start. I'm not getting spark and cannot figure that out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advanced
Chris

At the end you said you are not getting spark? Is the engine turning over or not?

If the engine is NOT turning over, you won't have spark and the first thing I would check is that you have grounded the engine to the battery. That wire can get lost in everything in that corner. Also, check to see if you have battery voltage to starter large terminal at all times and that the small wire to the starter has voltage (use testlight if you don't have a meter) when turning key to the start position. After you have done that get back to us.

If the engine IS turning over, repost and make it clear what you are experiencing.

And if you want to diagnose and repair electrical problems on your vehicel get a cheap meter and test light if you don't already have them. Changing parts is a lame thing to do with the knowledge that is on this site!

Ok, I got it to turn over. My battery wasn't strong enough I guess. Tried the battery out of the truck and it started to turn. So, went out bought a new one, and it turns over, but will not start. There seems to be a power drain somewhere. The battery is at full charge but the car turns over about 1 1/2 times and dies, but still has a charge.
