Hey I got a lot of questions i have a 90 talon tsi and the motor blew and now im in the process of rebuilding it and im not sure what to put all back in it if anyone could help with engine internals, a head, fmic, oh yeah do you have to relocate your oil cooler to mount the fmic?, all your help would be appreciated. Im trying to get the car done by winter cause winter sucks in ohio so if anyone could help that would be awesome THANKS!!

yeah i hear you on those great ohio winters :notgood: i just rebiult a motor...what were you looking for...how much boost do you plan to run and what kind of turbo set up are you going to use? :talon:

Depends on how much you want to spend. A cheap yet solid rebuild would consist of 1g big rods and 2g pistons. As for the oil cooler getting in the way that depends on the cac pipe route.

1g rods and 2g pistons are a good idea if your planning on balancing and blueprinting your motor, which would be required anyways if your planning on using anything other than what originally came out of the block. i would leave the precision work to a good machine shop. but that's me. when it comes to engines, mostly you get what you pay for. and machine shops = $$$

Hey thanks the block is already at a machine shop and their seeing what they can do i was thinking about a sleeper 16g or that fp30 turbo setup, but i dont know i want to rebuild this car to be fast and somewhat reliable cause its gonna be a everyday driver, i was hoping to boost about 18-28 psi. Thanks for all the help!!

You could try a set up like mine...so far 6000 miles and no problems...well big ones that is...LOL :D . I have a Evo3 16g, 550cc s, ported head, :talon: intake and exuast manifold, external dump, and an afc2. It was good enough to get me a 12.7 ET and keep it safe

Main bearings, rod bearings, oil pump, piston rings, camshafts, complete engine overhaul gasket set , have your cylinder head looked at by the machine shop and at least have new exhaust valves installed. Reliability is a good thing...
