Timing Off??

So I tried to put my timing belt on today and I def could not get all the marks to line up...I dont know if the Web cam street grind cam shafts have something to do with it or not but any input would be helpful. The problem is with my cam gears. Ill get the inner marks to line up, but the marks on the outside of each cam gear are about a half a tooth up on each side and line up with eachother but not the center marks. Is this a big deal? THe center marks appear to be perfect (nice and straight with eachother and the head ) so I dont get it. Thanks for the help, Joe

Can you take a picture and post it up here for us?
You're at TDC right? And what about the timing mark on the oil pump? Did you rotate it 6 full rotations after you lined up the two middle marks?

I didnt have a chance to get a pic of it today so ill try to describe it again. There are no balance shafts so the position of the oil pump doesnt matter and I was at TDC. Lets say youre looking at the cam gears. Each gear has 2 notches in it making a total of 4. There are two that point at eachother on the inner side (timing marks) and then the two notches on the outside of the gears. When my inner notches are lined up, the notches on the outside of the cams are about a tooth high when i hold a straight edge to all the marks. I was under the impression that all 4 had to be in a straight line but now im second guessing that. I hope that was a better description of my prob. Thanks again for the help. the two outside marks do not matter just the inner. the two inner marks should line up with the top of the head if you look straight at them.
