I just bought a 95 TSI AWD A/T and it is has a major problem that leaves me stranded! Most times the car will start and run normal, then a what seems to be random intervals it will "freak out". The first thing you notice is that there is no power and then the tach starts jumping around and the motor violently changes RPM's between almost 0 and 2-3k, as you are loosing speed while it is doing this the only other thing you can hear is all the relays under the hood ratcheting away non-stop. When this problem starts you have to constantly sit there and "pedal" it to try and keep it going long enough to get out of traffic. The second you take your foot off of the gas it dies. If you try and restart it will only catch for a second and immediately die. If you wait long enough it will start again (seems to be random) but you know if it's not ready because as soon as you turn the key you will hear all the relays again so you have to wait until this stops. I thought it might be something that only happens when it is at temp but it did it all day yesterday without having been started or run once. When this happens the ecu throws a bunch of codes that would indicate that almost all the sensor on the car died at the same time (sorry I don't have a list of them). So , does anyone want to hazard a guess or tell me what more info they need from me to help?
