i just bought my 95 TSI a little over a week ago and havent had any problems up until today. i put new spark plugs in right away and noticed oil in one of the cylinders. it was running strong, great acceleration, no smoke so i didnt think much of it. then today i put in new 8mm wires and front strut bar. after putting the wires in i drove it for a little(not very hard) and it seemed to have lost some throttle response. then i drove it later a little harder and could definitley tell it had lost power. and when i tried to push hard in first gear it would misfire around 4500rpm. minutes later the CEL came on and hasn't gone off. i also noticed the oil was low so i added a quart but that didn't seem to help the situation. i don't know what the hell is going on. im new to the dsm scene and working on cars in general so if you could give me any hints that would be great. thanks

it could be valve stem seals are bad or piston rings or even the turbo could be leaking from the seals inside... but yea start with compression if low compression it could be any of the first 2 I said...

Valve cover seals might be leaking oil into the spark plug cylinders. Buy a new gasket, and replace. Doing a compression test is a good idea as well. You're going to have to replace the plugs again also. You need to find that oil leak of yours and get that fixed. I don't think that one spark plug cylinder is enough to lose a qt. of oil.
