It took me awhile, but I finally found out where my oil leak is coming from. I ran the car with no belt cover to track down the leak. It's leaking right out of the auto tensioner bolts! I tried RTV, thread seal, and it's still dripping! I feel that if I torque it down anymore than it is, the bolts will snap. Why is this such a problem? Anyone ever run by this and how'd you take care of it? This all came about when I changed my timing belt and it's been one nightmare after another.

BTW, it is a 94 Talon ES non turbo 2.0.

Thanks!

Thread sealant worked fine for me. I would say that you might have other issues. Maybe a cracked front cover from overtightening your autotensioner bolts. They shouldn't be that tight.

Might try some Lucas oil stabilizer, works good at stopping leaks. We have a 1990 NT with 200K on it. With straight oil, it leaks all over. Lucas keeps it from leaking, also keeps it from smoking. Use only as much as you need to stop it though. Cause it does thicken the oil.
