For some time now I have had to add a little oil every couple of days because it's lower on the dipstick each time I check. I did a compression test and it turned out 165-160-160-160. So I think the gasket would be okay but could it just be torn in a small area causing oil to leak out but still hold good compression? I also have a small 1" diameter spot of oil where I park, but can't seem to figure out where it's coming from. It is just to the rear of the oil filter. The car doesn't smoke any either, so that leaves me wondering again. What do you guys think this is or where my oil is going?? TIA. :talon:

Is there any oil on your oil filter. or around the gasket of your oil pan? or oil pump front cover?

when i blew my head gasket it was unmistakable.. lets put it this way, if i got lost on the road, i could follow the oil all the way home. :D

Go and buy a can or two of Brake Clean. Jack the car up and spray it down to clean any built up oil. Then the next day get under the car again and you'll be able to see where the oil is leaking from. Places to look and spray are just as liquordrunk suggested with the addition of the oil return tube.

A couple of things I forgot to add was that I have 12-13 in/hg vacuum at idle and around 15 on decel, which I know is a little low, but that could be a vacuum leak I guess. Also the car never overheats at all, the needle never goes past straight up on the gauge. It only leaks oil once in a while, like sometimes I'll park the car and get out and look under while the turbo timer is running and I can see oil dripping down onto the ground, about a drop every 15 seconds or so, it's not that much, and sometimes it doesn't leak at all. I just sprayed down the oil pan area today with a hose when I washed the car and got some oil off around that area but I will go get a can of degreaser and shoot all around that area. I replaced my oil return tube not too long ago and put a good bit of rtv on both the turbo and oil pan flanges of the line, but there is some oil on the pan below the return, so maybe it's leaking a little. But anyways thanks for the advice I'll try this tomorrow and see if I can find any leaks. :thumb:
