No Oil Please Help!!

OK so my 90 laser rs turbo was my project, bought with a blown head...
Replaced the head run it for 2 days then my oil light comes on and my motor knocks, no oil. SO i replace the oil pump (even though the one I took out seemed to be fine) with a used oil pump ( I know that was very dumb ) run it for 7 days and the same thing happend again. My oil pressure guage reads that i have good oil pressure but my oil light is on and my motor is not getting oil. Replace with a new oil pump??? It doesn't seem that likely that 2 would go out the exact same way...is there something else going on besides the pump? PLEASE HELP!

If you bought it with a bad head you've probably got other issues as well. I find that most of my project engines need the engine pulled-bored and thoroughly cleaned/hot dipped due to gunk, grime and oil coking in the engine. I would definately put a new or at least reman oil pump in there, and put some seafoam in with cheap 10W30 and run it for about 15-30 min and change to good synthetic oil. Good luck!

If your motor isn't getting oil for 7 days then there is no way it will still run. What do you mean there is no oil? Do you mean there is no oil in the car? You might want to invest in an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. You might want to run a leak down test to see if you've got any kind problems that you're not aware of.

my "mechanic" timed the pump to a 2g 2.0 and there was my problem. Thanks for the help
