I was installing a EVO III 16G today and cross threaded the oil feed line on the head OMG . I haven't had a chance to try to chase the threads ,but if that doesn't work what are my options besides pulling the head to get a heila coil put in? I was thinking of trying to step up the fitting and put an AN fitting in with a restructure if its bigger than a 3AN and getting a steal braided line. If this will work of any one has any Ideas please help me out I'd like to not pull the head if at all possible

if you helicoil it and it doesn't leak you are cool, or else you have to drill and tap it. you should be able to chase the threads with the correct tap to where there is just enough there to hold the bolt tight enough to not leak. or you can just try to drive a little bit big bolt or (an connector in your wording) and see if that works before drilling and tapping it, if you drill and tap it you don't necessary have to pull the head, after drill and tap it, leave the connector off and start the car and let it shoot oil out so any crap you got in there blows out, after about a half quart you can reconnect everything.

Or you can do it right and get a SS line from the oil filter housing and block off the head oil feed. Tap and Dye it then put a bolt in there.

define do it right, with indy cars and f1 cars you learn really quick gether done and something that works. i got to laugh at you garage and home mechanics when you say do it right.

LOL yea, you don't know me, so I'd appreciate you not disrespecting me.

By doing it right I refer to using a SS oil feed line instead of the stock oil lines. There's more restriction in the stock lines. Not to mention the feed line from the head supplised the turbo with dirtier oil than from the oil filter housing.

Don't assume to know me and my work practices. I've helped countless people on this site and in real life and I'm not doing it so I can take crap from people like you.

Any idea what size fitting I would use and what kind IE AN, NPT ,or BPT Thanks for the help. I didn't think of the addapter off the oil filter that would seem to be the easiest way to fix it. I'll just jb weld a bolt into the head LOL! j/k

If you're gonna ask for help, lose the attitude and quit being a jackass. It won't take you far here.
For all you know, the guy was a Mitsu engineer that designed the 4G63. It's pretty arrogant and just flat stupid of you to attempt to lord yourself over someone you don't know, especially considering you're new, and your spelling/grammar make you look like you didn't pass the 9th grade.

you do help prove one theory of mine, that most dsm'ers are babys and love to complain and moan, and argue like little kids about what he said, she said, but he said. i admire my broken grammar i could school you anyday. have fun watching me in the pits on tv at the indy race in nashville coming this weekend

sucks to be him if he is a mitsu engineer. anyone can lord themselvs over them as you would put it. also a good word of advice get your resume out before mitsu goes completely under

Heh... it never ceases to amaze me how people try to turn things around on others, particularly when it's obvious they're in the wrong. At any rate, you started it by being a dick to the other guy. As was said, you don't know him. And if you're such a badass mechanic for indy cars, why are you on a lowly message board full of "garage mechanics," whom you obviously think you know more than?
At any rate, this thread has ran it's course. I'm done here.
