I get DSMLink and installed it today...

1. I got a refurbished (new caps) Cali eprom ecu but my car is federal. but that doesn't matter because i can go in and eliminate fault codes like the egr code. Remember, dsmlink guys check the ecu for any issues when they get it too.

2.OK. so i put the bad boy in (maft zeroed out and set to 450s) with the dsmlink chip. she won't idle until i turn my maft idle knob clockwise a bit. no biggie i have to calibrate my maft. it runs beautifully. better with out tuning than when i was tuning w/ the maft alone.

3. i take her out and she really runs good smooth acceleration, fast, and responsive like a stock dsm.

4. cut the car off and take out the key and there is this buzzing that comes on when the ecu shuts down. The buzzing is coming from the center consol! ??!!?!?!?! WHAT IS IT! this is all i found: this and that and finally .

Please help. I have to disconnect the battery to make it stop!

Anyone? I went back out and i found out that the buzzing is from the fuel pump relay... WTH! I put orriginal ecu in and it doesn't buzz. I'm at a loss. I have to move. So I was hoping this car would be reliable to travel likek 300+ miles. Any help would be appreciated.

I've seen it and fixed it before but I can't remember what the cause is.
It's something pulling one of control lines to the MPI relay low but I forget what was bad.
Pull that ECU, check to make sure that the caps have been replaced and look closely for signs of corrosion. Maybe I'll remember what causes it.

And the ecu seems in really good shape. Everything is clean in there. I see where caps have been replaced. All the others look good... so do you remember what it qas? Remember, this only happens after the car is cut off and the ECU itself shuts down.

That sounds exactly like the problem I was having a while ago. I just bought a new EFI Relay for $75 and it fixed the buzzing noises. I drove my car for a month before I fixed the EFI so I wouldnt worry about driving it.

just shoot the dam thing ROFL Yea its probably the relay. Doesnt hurt much. if you do short something out thiers always the fuse that will save the day. Or go to a junk yard and get the relay for cheep if you cant afford a new one.
