i have a 91 talon and on the throttle body there are some nipples that arent capped. A2 is capped but A1 and E arent capped and P has a line coming from it. my Question is would the uncapped nipples make my car have a bad idle or drive weird. also where do these lines go? do i need them for emissions? i DID search..couldnt really find anything that helped.

Here in Pueblo We have no emission laws so I just did away with all of it. The vacuum hoses are mainly for emissions so I don't need them. But the link above shows where they all go and if it is the link I am thinking of it shows how to eliminate all of it as well.

yea i went to the link...doesnt really help me cuz i have no clue what its tryin to show. im gonna need to get all my emissions stuff hooked back up to get it inspected unless anyone knows if they check in VA. i need to get all that hooked up and get a cat. but back on topic, im going to go buy some caps for those things for the time being. do you think i could hook it all up to get inspected then take it off...an put it on b4 i get it inspected the next time?

dont think you have to worry about emissions in va. i work at a dealership and we dont check it so you shouldnt have to worry about it. you mentioned getting a cat. that might get you failed for state inspection if you dont have one of those but as for emission testing in general you should be ok :thumb: :talon:

sweet...then im not gonna worry about it. i talked to a guy who said they HAVE to be hooked up because they are important...is this true? or are they strictly for emissions. all i have to do is cap them right?

heres a vaccum line diagram its for the 91 talon tsi fwd assuming this is what your dealing with. hope it helps it should also pertain to the awd model

so final Question....will capping the ones without lines be ok? the only one im using is the boost vaccum line. the other ones arent capped.

well all of them go somewhere since its not running bad without the lines then capping them shouldnt change anything so go ahead and cap away i mean if it does change then take them off. me myself id run the lines where they go but your choice :thumb: :talon:

it IS running bad right now..thats why im tryin to see if i need to hook them up or just cap them

If there are no lines running from them, they must be capped. Yes it will definitely affect the drivabilities of your car.
Read that page again. It clearly shows where each line is suppose to go, what is ok to remove and what to do with the nipples when you do remove them. You keep asking the same question when it had already been answered right from the start. Cap them off, you have to, there is no choice. Put your brain to use, study the link I gave and you will be able to answer your own questions. ;)

ok...no need to get frustated...we're not all perfect like YOU...i see the diagram. if i KNEW what all that shit was in the first place i wouldnt be asking. i understand now...but im still learning...

Your apology is accepted. I was simply trying to get you to think for yourself which is the best way to learn. As you can see I've waited more than a day between my 1st ans 2nd post, I was hoping you would find your own way out because the information was there just waiting to be obsorbed. ;)

if im correct a1 is on the firewall side of the tb and p is on the engine side so A1(R) goes to a T and to the purge control valve, pcv solenoid A2(G) goes to the thermo valve, P(B) goes to the other side of the purge control valve, and E(Y) to the thermo valve also. hope this helps

yea...thats helps..i saw the picture...but wasnt sure if those were important enough that i needed them connected or i could just cap them. cuz its running bad right now. i bought this car about a month ago an have been tryin to figure out why its being weird. i thought maybe those needed to be connected for it to run right...but now i know its just for emissions an that cappin them might help. it has idling issues. like when i first start it itll surge for about 2 min then slowly go away. an then when i drive it hard it hesitates during shifting...kieth is coming to my house to help me this weekend so hopefully we'll figure it out...cuz its my only car right now.

For those who dont know, Im keith . Well, I capped his ports, fixed a few boost leaks, replaced the iac, coolant temp sensor, and fixed a few broken wires and it seems to be running good now. Has a small case of phantom knock(43 counts at mid throttle, 25 and part throttle) but I think it is either bad gas, fuel filter, or lifter tick. Regardless, we plan to have it completely done and on the road by next weekend.

And before someone says set the timing, I set the base timing at 5* so I know that isnt causing the knock. We will be doing a tune up later in the week.

i have to give thanks to kieth for saving me...LOL this man took took time out his weekend...even when his week was busy....an helped me with my car...if it werent for him...i would have probably given up...an my 91 talon would have been parted out an/or taken to a junkyard....he saved it thats for sure....i just had to show my appreciation!!!!
