I was curious what kind of compression to expect when doing a hand cranked compression test. My motor is out of my car and I want to compression check it before I go and put it back in

hand cranked? not much.

Attach the starter and give it power. Not hard at all. If it's a fresh motor you should see over 160PSI in each cylinder.

Hey I am just wondering where I can get the stuff to do a compression test? Can I at advance Auto or Auto Zone?

Thanks

You can buy a compression tester at an auto parts store such as kragen, napa, or you can go to sears. I know sears sells one for around $30. Just call them and ask if they have them in stock.
