What plug is this?

It's connected to the main harness, it has a funny plug, doesn't look like a standard style "prong" plug... it's more round inside.

It doesnt have much slack so it can't stray very far. It's located directly beneath the coolant temp sensor.

directly underneath the coolant temp sensor? there are 3 plugs around the thermostat, the one that is the coolant temp sensor is the left one below the thermostat housing. the ONLY plug underneath that is the O2 sensor plug, and that is pretty far below it

no it's not the coolant temp sensor or the 02 sensor plug (as they are both plugged in). The cord starts from around the back of the cylinder head (back=firewall direction) and wraps around it until it reaches it's final destination of the area beneath the CTS.

Im lost.

a/c sensor plug.tells the a/c fan to turn on(driver side fan)thats what my 92 tsi does anyway.
