Every once in a while I will start the car and I notice the car idles at like 1500RPM. I also notice that this usually happens when I throw it in reverse. (I.E. clutch is in, gear in reverse, but car should be at idle). So i will put in in nuetral, and still idles at 1500RPM. It only stops after a few minutes of driving. Car is already warmed up, oil pres. good, anyone have any ideas? The car has absolutely no mods on it, and I'm pretty sure its not idle surge (Thank God). My buddy says the throttle cable sticks sometimes, could that be it?

Sounds to me like a sticking throttle cable. When you're noticing that it is idling high pop the hood and see if you can move the throttle more towards the closed position. If it moves more and the idle returns to normal then either your throttle cable is sticking or the springs that close the throttle are not strong enough.

Either way I would fix this ASAP, the last thing you want is that problem suddenly getting worse when you're at WOT and the throttle staying wide open.

do you have your a/c on? any accessories that take up alot of juice? does it do it especially when you use your brakes or headlights? the higher idle is sometimes necessary in order to keep the voltage up. this used to happen to me alot. my alternator was on its way out. something to consider. hope this helps.

True, I'd deffinetly check into this if I were you. I know that when I first get into my car and let it warm up and I put down both windows and the sunroom the idle drastically drops, then when I finish the idle suddenly pops up and then settles down.

I thought of that as well, but I have nothing on. No lights, radio, windos, a/c, heat, NOTHING. And it only happens when the car has already been warmed up and then started up again after like a 5 - 10 min sit.

Well this problem I've been having had seemed to calm down a bit, but recently has been acting up. This may or may not be related, but I noticed that when it is warmer out this happens more, and when its colder, it happens less. I'm thinking maybe the throttle cable is sticking. I also noticed that when you push the gas pedal all the way down, its still not wot, because you can still pull the cable by hand some more with the pedal all the way down.
My question to you guys is how can I adjust the cable so that its at wot when the pedal is down, and how can I prevent it from sticking so my rpms aren't at like 1300 when I'm sitting in traffic in neutral?? Appreciate all the help I can get, thanks guys.
