1) I was just wondering what the procedure was for checking balance shaft bearings with the engine still in the car

2) Also, if the (front?) balance shaft bearing is bad (the one that the balance belt goes around) could i just remove the belt for now and would i be ok?

3) I also do not know the torque specs for the 2g rod caps. This is my first 2g and i dont have the manual yet.

4) What needs removed to drop the oil pan on a 2g AWD? I know on my 1gFWD i just have to bascically drop a crossmember and downpipe.

My problem is basically i have a knock that is steady around 2500-3000 rpms then goes away. the car idles fine with no noise. I'm trying to drop the pan today to get a better look at things but i have to pull the engine out of my 1g first, so i figured i'd get some little questions out of the way that i was unsure of.

cmon some of these could be answered by anyone with a manual, i should have one but i just got this car a couple days ago and have never owned a 2g
