I was wondering if the ECU I have in my 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 16V 2.0L DOHC auto tranny DSM would fit into a 1992 Eclipse 1.8L SOHC manual tranny? I was told they are virtually the same, and I thought if I could save a few bucks to get this other car running, I could just buy another ECU later on for the 90 DOHC (since it is my project car anyway).

Any advice, tips? Anyone think I was told wrong by some knucklehead? LOL! Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice.

No, you need a 1.8L ECU. The 2.0L N/A uses the same igntion systems as the other DOHC cars where the 1.8L uses a distributor and embedded coil. The two ECUs aren't interchangable.
