Anyone else with the RS60T and internal gate not holding and giving only 17PSI? No matter what I adjust I get 17 PSI. Anyone? Mark

What have you done as far as trouble shooting is concerned? What make you think it's the wastegate not holding? Do you mean the actuator not holding or the wategate being blown open by exhaust gas?

I'm beginning to think the exhaust gas is blowing open the wastegate flapper. I removed the vac line from the actuator-17PSI. capped the BOV outlet(i use a blow thru)
and blew the compressor outlet elbow off the lower IC piping at 18 psi. I will now construct a boost leak tester. If the wastegate flapper is the problem what is the fix? Weld it shut and go external? Mark
S: I have the MBC tightened all the way and have shortened the actuator arm all the way. I am looking for 20-22 psi rightnow but in the future with a fresh motor I would require more boost.Mark

Do MBC's go bad?

Well Dave from Bullseye Power uggested I tighten the actuator arm even more which required removing the lock nut. I got the arm screwed on as far as it would go. Went for a drive and got 20-22 psi, just what I wanted but got it the wrong way.(The wastegate flaper only moves about 25% of it's full range!) Still need to diagnose the problem. I will do a boost leak test. Can an MBC go bad?
If I remove a fitting what should come out, a ball&spring? Besides the boost leak test can anyone recommend anything else? I have a feeling the MBC is suspect. A much stiffer actuator pring would help. Mark

You can easily determine if the actuator or the mbc is the problem. Adjust the arm back to the way it was (at 17-18 psi) and do a test run without any hose connected to it. Be carefull because you are looking for all out boost so shut down at about 22 psi. If in fact you do get an all out boost, the actuator and wastegate is OK and the problem is the mbc. If problem persists then actuator/wastegate is in question. I'm leaning towards the mbc at this point. Good luck.
