pertinent facts:
i just had a new engine installed less than 220 miles ago. stage 2 shortblock and stage 5 head from SBR. put the car into the garage to install the new magnus intake manny, and decided to remove the ABS at the same time. car sat for 2 weeks as needed parts for the brake swap were backordered. only other thing changed was the plugs and new wires from accel.

went over to the garage today to finish up the install (lengthen wires and relocate coilpack). finished up and started the car it fired up and idled fine for about 30 seconds, then started blowing a whitish smoke from the exhaust. i popped the hood and noticed some smoke coming from the downpipe/O2 housing connection. tightened the connection and drove about 1/4 mile hoping i was burning something off inside the engine, huge smoke cloud followed me so i went back to the garage.

noticed an "air" leak sound coming from somewhere near the TB, retightened everything there(never heard a magnus intake so not sure if it makes this sound normally) noise remained. pulled the intake and checked the shaft play on my 16g (>5000 miles old) very minimal, so i assume the seals are still ok. however there was a clear fluid on the intake side of the turbo(also noticed this on the DP connection and the exhaust tip). the oil is still very clean and it was sortof dark so i couldnt entirely tell if it was oil. the exhaust has a strange smell to it but i couldnt make it out, but it didnt really smell like coolant. checked the coolant level and it was ok, but the car also didnt run very long.

i searched through roughly 1000 posts and couldnt find anything like my problem other than the normal consensus of "its your HG". i did find one post saying something about brake fluid possibly being the culprit. however i didnt check that before i left, will do it first thing in the morning.

anyone else ever had a problem with brake fluid entering the intake manny through the booster line? and how might i fix this.

i know this is long but i was trying to be thurough(sp?). appreciate any suggestions you may have. thanks. mike.

forgot to mention that i have the pcv valve and the breather filter nipple looped together for the time being since the old filter was cracked. and just realized that the valve cover cannot "breathe" in this manner. will fix this immediatley in the morning, but would this cause my problem? the car was not even smoking at all when i put it in the garage for the intake install.

How long did you run the car with them looped. Excessive crank case pressure can cause a lot of problems, in this case I suspect causing problem to turbo oil return flow which in turn blew the seal, just a guess. Good luck.

hooked them in loop right before i started the engine after the intake install and ABS removal. so maximum of 10-15 minutes runtime. going to try and get over there first thing in the morning and determine if it is oil or brake fluid i am seeing, hard to tell tonight since they are almost the same color right now, brake fluid is just thinner.

Forgot one thing before, you need to do a pressure test and fix those leaks. Just because you didn't find it doesn't mean it's not there. ;)

thought i woul.d give an update on the situation. last week i did a leak test and found that my buddy had installed the intake manny to TB gasket backwards so fixed a big leak there, BOV still leaks after about 14 psi. but thats not a biggie because i have a front mount with a tial that was going to be my next install, but need to figure this one out first. there a a couple small leaks on misc parts that i didnt fix yet.
tested the car still smoked like a banshee. so i rebuilt the 16g, reinstalled it and retorqued the headstuds while i was at it. took it out today and still smokes, however, not noticably at idle anymore. engine bay is smoking because oil is seeping through the exhaust manny--turbo and turbo-O2-downpipe connections. these connections are tight as i could get them, but still seeps through.
any other ideas on where im getting all the oil from? this is a brand new engine with 220+ miles on it.
