My car wont start

Well I was driving down the interstate the other night and all of a sudden my car turned off. After trying to restart it, nothing happend. I looked over the car and found that I some how blew the Motor fuse. So I had to get it towed home. After looking over everything the car cranks but will not start. I dont have any spark, fuel, or injector pulse. I pulled the computer out and it appears to be fine. What do you think my problem is? I guess im going to have to get a wire scamatic and trace everything. Any ideas??

Did you replace the MPI?
 
A good rule of thumb to use when dealing with blown fuses is to put a new one in and try again. Only once. Could have been a faulty fuse. So borrow one of the 30A fuses from like window motors for example and try that.... if it doesnt blow then there you go. Do this once. If it blows again. It is obviously a short and you will have to start doing resistance checks. PM if you have some questions

Anyway okay lets start from scratch. Go buy a multimeter, you can get them from walmart for like 5 bucks. it Doesnt have to be digital but they help. Now did the new fuse you replace blow? if not then take it out and test the power going into the fuse by placing the red lead in the socket and the black on a ground. Make sure you have the settings right on your multimeter. black in "Comm" red in "V-Ù" now ensure that there is voltage. if not then check your connection to the fuse ditribution block. Now lets say that there is. we move on. chase the wires the otehr way. what you are looking for is condition corrosion and security. You want to make sure your wires are in tiptop shape. Since we know it might be a short we are looking for chaffing primarily. a Short to ground will blow a fuse. a short to another power source or accessory will just power something else up. So look for out of the ordinary fuctionality like your dome light wont cut off or in that sense. let me know what you find and we will go deeper.

I've got a 92AWD, my 30A IGN fuse blew, it's the one that's in the same holde as the MPI fuse. Do you have any suggestions what would be the likely short. I put in another and it blew at about 5 seconds into starting the car.
