I have just done a rebuild on my 6 bolt and I finally fired it up yesterday. When it started my oil light stayed on and the oil pressure gauge (stock) pointing to low. I quickly turned the car off. BTW the car ran like crap. Freaking out, I didn't start the car until today after I installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge. I ran it off the head right next to the turbo oil feed line. I was wondering if anyone knows what the oil pressure suppose to be off the head. I get 40psi. with the engine cold. Once it warms up I get 10psi or a little less at idle. At normal driving it's about 20psi @3000rpm. My oil light is still on. Please let me know if I should continue to run my motor. Thanks

. What I was thinking is that since I'm reading off the head the oil pressure should be lower and the weird thing is the oil light turns off during idle and turns on as rpm goes up. Oil pressure is rpm dependant so I don't understand why it turns on when oil pressure goes up.
