Question Installed suspension and brakes on my 99 and having weird problem...

Wasn't sure where to put this exatly, but, yesterday some friends and I put some coilovers, rotors, pads, etc on my 99 Eclipse. I took the car out of storage yesterday and replaced the battery because the previous was dead.

Anyway, sometiems when I am driving my car now, and apply the brakes, the 'Check Engine' light comes on and the electronics of the car hesitate. Like, I will see the tach needle drop as if the car was turned off though the engine is still running... the radio blips off then on and so forth. All this in about half a second.

It does this whenever I put a lot of 'load' on the electronics of the car... like after we were done yesterday I turned on the heater, lights on, rear window defrost, radio, and the car felt like it was going to stall out. Idles at like 500 rpm (on my safc). Drove it home yesterday with no problems... then today is when the 'Check Engine' light would come on whenever I applied the brakes and the electronics would go haywire for half second or so. And, this only happened like 1/3 the time.

I was on the freeway today and turned on my lights and it did that again. It's like the car is shut off/ turned on real quick. I don't know...

I drove around a little a while ago and didn't have any problems.

The only thing I can think of is because the battery was replace, the ECU had to reprogram itself or something??

Make sure the battery is secure and the positive teminal isnt grounding on the hood. Thats the only thing I can think of at the moment.

Sounds like a possible bad ground somewhere. Since you've recently replaced your battery, I would most definitely think of it to be there. I had a similar problem awhile back where she would seem to just go crazy for a bit, and even completely died on me outta nowhere on two occasions. I ended up buying a new battery ground cable and terminal connectors, made sure all connections were good and clean...haven't had a problem like that since
