alright i did the 6bolt in the 2g swap and i ran good for about a week then when i went to get on it on day it back fired and shot a huge flame at about 6000 rpms then the whole car died and it wouldnt start again so i got it home put charged the batt. checked all my wires and then went to start it again and then when i was cranking on it some smoke came from the #2 injector and it would start so if you could help me that would would be great.

here is my mods

6bolt
n1 turbo back no cat
650 injectors are about 1year old
sbr 20g ported w/ 34 mm flapper
afc
logger
ported 2g ex mani
air intake
255 fuel pump and rewire
manual boost controler
type s bov
stock intercooler but with all hard pipe
also have the gauges like a/f. boost/vac,

i really need help
 
1. 255 and 650s without afpr, you're asking a lot out of the safc.

2. Check and make sure ther are no boost leaks, a real test of course.

3. Check the plugs and do a compression test.
 
just ordered then buschur racing sx afpr kit

i checked but could not find any leaks

also just did the compression test didn't come out to good

i tested it cold and thats what i got so that mean my rings are bad right :confused:

but why would my injector still smoke

20psi indicates a severe problem. Either a blown HG or bent valves.
If the HG was blown around the #2 injector it could be venting the air/fuel mixture from #1.
 
Don't know why your injectors are smoking but let's focus on the compression test. Do you know how to do a wet test? A wet test will probably tell you if it's the rings, make sure the throttle is fully open when doing the dry or wet test. BTW a visual inspection doesn't qaulify as a boost leak test.
 
yeah i was told that i should but a little oil in #1 and it went up to about 30lbs so thats the rings then right

what should the resistance on the injectors/how shoud i check that with a ohms meter

yeah i only did a visual test how do you do the real test and what do i need

1. No, 30 psi is not enough to be the rings. I beleive it's either HG or Valves, only a leak down test can tell for sure. Are your coolant and oil mixing?

2. You can measure all four and see if #2 is different from the rest.

thanks i will try the leak test and i also checked to oil and no coolant was in it or is there another way to check

also would bent valves cause it to smoke when i turn it over also looks like there is oil on the #1 piston and on plug

i will tell you how it comes out

Assuming your timing belt is still good and everything is still in proper timing, I'd guess your backfire was from loosing a valve. It might not have dropped but it could still be burnt or cracked causing the loss in compression of that cyl. None of those compression numbers looks very good for a 2G and cyl 1 is shot.

well i was just looking at it and noticed that the cas was turned all the way down so i was thinking maybe then cas bolts was not all the way tight and when i went to get on it, the cam turned the cas down and that put the car out of time and thats why it back fired but could that have bent my valves but i am still going to do the leak test to find out
 
Just making sure you understand, the link I gave you before was for a boost leak test. Though you should do one anyway but what you need to do right now is a leak down test to determine if you bent the valves.
 
if the valves are bad could i use the ones out of my old 2g engine or and the 7bolt and 6bolt valve not the same
 
ok i did a leak down test today and here is what happened

i put it TDC on #1

put air to it and air came out my intake mani. and my # 2 spark plug hole

then did cylinder #4 nothing happen no leaks

then put engine at a TDC on #2

put air to it air came out intake mani, and #1 spark plug hole

then put air to #3 and air only came out intake mani

so does this mean that i have some bent intake valves and maybe a blown head gasket

what do you guys think
 
Did you open the coolant cap to see if level changes or bubbles? Open the oil cap and listen for hissing sound? Assuming you did everything right then yes, intake valves.

Bent or burnt, with a head gasket failure between 1 & 2. Time to take that head back off.
