I was running a non eprom ecu in my 91 gsx while my eprom got the caps replaced, and the board socketed. The car ran with the non eprom all last summer until I parked it for the winter.

I just recently swapped the freshly fixed eprom in, with a stage 2 keydiver chip. The car ran good, and I let it bounce off of the stutterbox a few times. I drove the car a few miles, and noticed that my boost wasn't controllable, oh well, must be a problem with my new boost controller.

I installed an 02 dump, and took the car for a ride again. Still no boost control, so I never got to hear my dump  . Anyway, I got back into the car a few days later to see if I fixed my boost problem. Started the car, and the idle was choppy. Looked at my afc, and there is no power. So I popped the afc apart, and everything looks normal at first. Then I noticed that the screen (inside the blue casing) is discolored in one of the corners. It looks like a burn. I flip the screen over, and on the opposite side, it also appears to be a little burned. Im just wondering what I could attribute this to? I will post pictures later, I dont have my camera with me right now. Also, do I have to disconnect all wiring that is sodered into my ecu wiring in order for my ecu to read the stock mas signal? Or will the afc just being unplugged suffice?

When I tried running my car with it unplugged it threw a check engine light, there is the one wire that is split and has to be put together when you take out the afc and that is why the c.e. light comes on.good luck
