Alright, Tried to find this on the forums but no luck. I am not gettin any spark from the coil to the plug wire. I checked power to the coil and its good. When I do a test on the spark plug wire I do not get spark. I am not sure if a sensor being disconnected would cause this problem. I tried both coil packs and get the same issue. I have tried turning the cas around and still no luck. I know that the wires are good and the coils were working before i changed the motor in the car. I am not sure what else could cause the spark to get this far but not to the plugs. I have double checked everything else. I am not sure due to the motor swap if I am missing a sensor but I believe that they are all pluged in. If anyone knows what could cause this problem please let me know.

Alright, I left a few things out and I wanted to make sure that I put them in. I swapped an evo III motor into my car. Instead of using the CAS off of the evo I changed the cam on the intake side to use the 2G CAS. The evo uses the one similar to the 1G. I tested the entry to the coil and I am getting continuity but nothing coming out. I double checked all of the sensors and they seem to be intact. CAS and Crank sensor seem to be O.K., but I only checked them with a test light (not sure if that is good enough). I get power to the ignitor. There was a little (capacitor) on the end of the intake manifold that got broken but I heard that was only for noise reduction. It shows in the wiring schematics that that is used in the ignition system. I am not sure if this little thing would affect my car not starting but maybe. Sorry for being so in depth I just want anyone who can answer me to know the details. I might of left something out with all that ive done. Any help would be appreciated. Cant wait to use the DSMLink. :dsm:

The capacitor is mainly for noise reduction but it also helps energize the coil each time the power transistor fires (provide energy to the coil primary for a faster field collapse). If it's damaged it could short and definately prevent ignition. Disconnect it and see if you get spark (it may be weaker w/o it). But replace it either way.

Yeah I will definetly try that. Unlucky me that its a special order part. Ill try the junk yard and see if they have one. I hope thats the problem because i cant seem to find anything else that would stop it from working. Would the TPS stop the car from getting spark or just fuel? I have DSMLink and I am thinking about hooking it up to see if it shows any CEL's that i can get some info off of. I didnt want to hook it up until i got all the bugs worked out but maybe it will help me work them out. Thanks again any info would help :dsm:

Alright I changed the capacitor or condensor whatever u want to call it. I had no luck with that. I guess its supposed to help with noise and stuff but I thought it would hold charge for the coil (well i was wrong). I also changed the ecu thinking maybe mine was bad but still the same issue. So now I know what doesnt cause the car from getting spark to the coil, but not what causes it to get spark. I thought the cas would stop it but i get fuel. supposedly when you dont get spark and fuel thats the issue. I am getting fuel.. boy does that walbro shoot some fuel across the garage ;) . Anyone with any suggestions, ill try anything right now. :dsm:
