Hey all,

I ordered an OEM timing belt kit from an ebay vendor for 92 bucks shipped (timing belt, idler pulley, and tensioner pulley). After ordering it, I noticed that the company was shipping out of Hong Kong, and this made my stomach turn. Two weeks later, I received the kit, nicely bundled up. I opened it up, and sure enough, all the parts are Mitsu OEM. Here's where the fun begins.

THE PARTS ARE NOT FOR ALL FOR THE 4G63!!

The belt, parts no. MD182294, has either 123 or 124 teeth (I suck at counting things). From what I could research, it comes off of a 4G64 Galant (I think it is SOHC).

The tensioner pulley, parts no. MD115976, is the correct tensioner (89-94 dsm).

The idler pulley, parts no. MD182537, is labeled "screw, carb". It is an idler pulley though. From what I have found, it comes off of a Mitsu Delica, a JDM car that has a SOHC 4G63.

So here is the question of the day folks. I have a feeling that the idler pulley will fit, as it is off of a 4G63. The belt is the big question. I know for a fact that the 4G64 has many similarities to the 63 (Its the 2.4 swap, right?) but are the timing belts the same length/tooth count? I really need to find out. The person who sold these to me "promises" that it will fit, but if not, they will reship the correct parts. All the parts look similar enough to the orignial parts, so I do have some confidence in this, but I don't want to be in the middle of a timing belt swap to have to find out that my parts won't fit. Any help here would be most appreciated. I will have pics up of the parts as soon as I find my digi cam.

Thanks,

Ahh the joys of eBay...LOL

I have the CAPS program and all the part numbers from my timing belt job on my garage computer, so I just ran out and popped my hood and wrote down the number off of my OEM Mitsu timing belt.

MD 326059 on the belt in white letters.

I can look up numbers when I get home, or someone with CAPS handy can help.

ok,

so I found a copy of CAPS and ran the parts.

The belt is for a 2.4 spyder, as is the tensioner.

does ANYONE know if these might be compatable? according to CAPS, they aren't, but if anybody can prove otherwise, please speak up!!!
