I did a head gasket job because I was seeing white smoke on start up. I still see white smoke until my car is warmed up? I live in Colorado and I am wondering if it is just steam, but what else could cause white smoke until warm up?

That might be normal. Drive around and see what happens. After doing a Heagasket, If you have been driving it with it blown, coolant and moisture would get built up in the exhaust. Mine smoked like it still was blown untill about 20 miles, when it heated up nice. Occasionally I still get a smoke, but its just residue, I've done a compression check so I'm sure.

i replaced my headgasket about 4 months and 3k miles ago. so i am at loss of what this possibly is

I agree, im pretty sure thats normal. As long as you say it goes away after awhile. Im not sure if you have tried this but a simple way of knowing if you are burning coolant is to check your levels. Obviously your coolant level shouldnt be dropping at a noticable rate or be dropping at all.

Most cars smoke when first started in the cold or chilly days until the cat get warmed up. Its just condesation. It looks just like a blownhead gasket but it perfectly normal. If you accelerate you might even see water come out of the tailpipe. Again perfectly normal.

Actully, look at my sig! That picture was taken after I rolled it out of the garage with a new headgasket. See the steam coming out?
