LOL i knoew this would get attention.... i was just kidding. but what i am wondering is ... do any of you guys have a powerband you cann feel kick in at 4000rpms? i have stock motor on t-25.... took of stock bleeder and ran just hose from turbo to actuator and it still does it....even at low boost!! i can feel power kick in at 4000rpms.... its weird... on 15 psi it will roast the tires on some roads on a 2 gear roll. thats also where i feel it most..2nd gear..

On a t-25 you should be getting full boost well before 4k (if that's what you are feeling). Hook up everything like it should be (BCS and all) and do a boost leak test. They have a write up here in the tech articles and also at www.vfaq.com. You probably have a boost leak as that is what a LARGE one can feel like.

Get a real boost gauge and make sure you are not creeping and causing that 'extra' power in the 4k range. On a stock setup, you shouldn't be going over ~13 (I never saw over 11psi).

side note: There actually is a 'vtec' setup for the 4G63. It is an aftermarket head assembly that was shown at the Tokyo auto show a few years back. I don't know if they ever started selling them or not, but at least a few prototypes were built.

mitsu has been making its own "vtec" for a while now. it's called a MIVEC head, but to the best of my knowledge only comes on its NA cars.

as for the jump in power, you're probably getting nice spark advance causing the feeling of the rush in power. it could also be a very brief spike in boost. my old t-25 would always do that. the second i got in boost it would spike up to 17 psi, then quickly drop back down to the 12-13 psi range. it felt awesome.

Guess again.. evo9 has a turbo mivec (and it's on the last 4g63)

Also if you go to www.rpw.com.au you can find that they have a hybrid setup that uses a 4g92 head (DOHC MIVEC) on a 4g93 motor, and turbo it... but as of right now the only MIVEC available in the states is the ralliart which is a NA SOHC MIVEC

Not to hijack this thread, but don't you think it would be wicked awesome if your valves opened up even more right as you hit full boost? Cool concept if you ask me, but I've been fantasizing over getting one of them 4g92 heads imported for months now... still trying to get the needed info.

like i said...with no bleeder or anything..its still jumps in power.. i have a boost guage and boost stays the same.... why does it do this!! ignition problem..?

First, without a bleeder you have no way to govern your boost so how can you be regulating boost?

Second, you've shown me the light as to how annoying "....." can be in posts. Going froward I will now use commas ;)

my t25 put out around 11.75psi (.8 bar) stock, and personally i feel a slight surge right around/after 3k, but that's probably just the actual powerband starting from an NA perspective. i can definitely tell when boost comes on though...that's different. my friend described it as a huge giant taking his hand and giving the car a helluva push.
