Okay. Tonight I was on my way back from out of town. I stopped at a stop sign and as I stopped, I felt a "pop" or "snap" through my clutch pedal while I was pushing it down. After that the car wouldn't go into gear (even with clutch engaged) and just sat in neutral. In an attempt to get the car moving, I turned the engine off, put the car in 2nd and started it up. But it just stuttered a little (like it was about to stall, but didn't move) and wouldn't move at all when in gear. It will just rev when in gear and allow me to change gears without using the clutch and with the engine running. I then figured it was my clutch, but what is funny is that I still have to press the clutch pedal down to start the car. What would you infer from what im tellin you?

please let me know

*Update*

I went out to my car this morning and I now want to add that I can change gears easier with the clutch engaged than without. Its feels almost like I have to force the car into gear when im not using the clutch but I can gear smoothly with the clutch engaged. (which seems close to normal) But I still cant move in gear, just rev. Also, everytime I push the clutch pedal in a little, a hear a clicking sound and Im feeling alot of vibrations through my clutch pedal.

PS. I have 163,000 on the car and it is my daily driver on atlanta's highway and city roads.

I hope this helps.

I check my linkages and they seem intact. I am able to move the further rod that controls 3rd and 4th in and out of gears. But the closer rod that conrols 1st and 2nd doesn't budge. Im not sure if this has anything to do with anything but I figure it would hurt. I plan on pulling the tranny out and going from there.
