I have completely checked every single post on here about idle problems, but heres mine....a few others have had the same problem as me....I have pretty much had a little idle surge since ive owned the car (about a year) but it was nothing real serious...But i had my car parked one night and the next morning when i started my car it took like 3 times as long to start.....it whined and clicked and made a funny noise and the lights on the dash kinda flickered, when it started it idled really really rough....turned the car off to try to start it again and it took like 10 tries before i finally got it going...it still idled rough and had idle surge and sounded like it was gonna bottom out each time...drove it around the parking lot a few times and it just didnt drive like normal (dont know how to explain it, but you now when your car isnt driving like it normally does)...well i drove around to do some eraneds and it just wasnt the same car and the idle surge was way worse than it normally had been....i re-adjusted the biss screw to 750rpm's becasue i had done that a few times before and that usually took care of it, but it still runs like crap (really bad idle like its gonna bottom out) im starting to think about replacing the isc and see what that does...or possibly unplugging the isc and see what that does.....thing is is that i dont really know what the isc is i know its somewhere close to the biss screw but other than that when i look at the engine i might as well be looking into the human brain ( i know nothing about cars) can someone give me some help on what to do....possibly pictures on what it look like to unplug the isc....remember im a retard when it comes to cars so....anything will help ......what do i do...i have to drive to the airport (1hr 1/2) away in 2 weeks and im a lil scared at driving it that far.....should i just take it to a shop....thanks

The ISC is located on the firewall side of the TB. It will be either black (plastic housing) or silver (not sure what material they used for the housing) and it's aobut the size of a golf ball or alittle lager. I believe it's held onto the TB with 3 small screws. It's pretty easy to find on the TB, the best part is you don't even have to take the TB off to get the ISC off.

My guess is that the ISC is bad. You can pick one up off of damtrader or the classifieds here for $40 or less. Hope this helps and good luck! :)

k thanks, i think i may just buy an ISC off ebay cause i saw a bunch for cheap and see if i can find someone to put it on really cheap (i know its probally really easy but i clearly dont trust myself) what would be a decent price if i had someone who knew what they were doing put it on (so i dont get ripped off for something easy) also does anyone have any other suggestions THANKS

It's really easier to do it yourself than to find someone else to do it. Just disconnect the connector, remove 2 screws, and pull it out. Then insert the new ISC and put the two screws back in. Takes about 5 minutes.

if i unplugged the isc and it starts to idle fine.. how long can i drive it around until i need to put it back on...what happens if its off to long...just wondering

It won't hurt anything to leave it unpluged. However, it probably won't completely solve your problem. Anyway, it doesn't hurt to try it.

yeah dude don't have someone put it on for you, it takes only 5 minutes and it's damn easy.
