Hey Guys! I just got my first DSM, spend about 12 hours running new brake and fuel lines to get her running, she runs good and pulles hard. I've got quite a few problems I need help with... The major problem is first. The car just got a brand new 3200lb clutch with copper 6 pluck and new throwout bearing (fresh fluid etc). I was driving today and noticed the car wasnt shifting good, it started shifting hard into 2nd, then barley at all. It couldnt get into 3rd at all. I decided I'd take it easy and drive in 2nd, I was only going 30-40 tops so it worked out. I later noticed about 10min later that when I gave her gas she would rev up but not go...this I could still move untill it fully stopped moving. During the time I noticed I got a weird noise when I made a right turn, and I now notice a weird grinding noise from the rear end. It's an AWD and im assuming that my rear diff went out, but wouldnt the FWD part still make the car move? and why would the be hard to shift all of a sudden? I've only got till monday to fix this problem and I cant afford to miss school so all the help I could get would be awesome.

Other Problems:

Tach wont fully go down, stays at 1200-8000
Dimmer wont dim anything.
No Powersteering.
Two fittings under fuel rail just below fuel rail look to accecpt a 3/8 line or bigger, one is angled out one angled down... not shure what they are for. Fitting on the site of intake not used, seems to be 1/2 line or so, also not used...another fitting below fuel pressure reg to the left a bit it's white sorta looks like a vaccume fitting no clue what that is.
Two wires with female connectors not connected comming off alternator, orange and greeinish.
Plug comming from right healight not connected, it's not for the foglights.
Small round plug, female connector comming from out by the mater cylinder also not connected.

The engine still runs strong, idles perfect... No sputtering or anything. I've had this car launch so hard the windshield wipers turn on, although never launched above 4500rpm. I'm not shure what all that stuff does on the engine but it does not seem to be affecting my performance. Well please help guys, I need it asap.

I might have a suggestion on whats wrong,it happened to me on a Honda. Firat I would go back and double check everything. It could be possible that maybe your axles aren't in all the way(snap in). I know that when it happened to me the car ran fine, and as soon as I gave it some gas the halfshaft poped out. Something you might check into. Now as far as shifting goes, did you remember to get everything lined up with your alinment tool that comes with the kit. If you alinment is off you will have problems getting it in gear. Try to retrack the steps in your head and double check every bolt,nut,pin,plug,wire,etc.. :dsm:

I noticed nobody has posted so I will throw out some ideas. I doubt they are the causes of your problems, but at least they are some ideas. If you had powersteering and then lost it, I would check to make sure the crank pulley has not come apart.

Did you have a stock clutch or a 2100lb clutch in prior? If so, your shifting problems may be due to a weak clutch hydrolic system.

I didnt setup the shifter, and the axles still seem to be in. I managed to get the car to drive about 500 feet to tuffy's. I had to do about 7grand in 1st gear to get there. The tranny seems to shift OK now but I gotta grip the shifter and shift hard. Not shure whats going on but im hopeing you guys can help me so I can tell tuffy's what needs to be done and I want to know what you guys think so they dont rip me off.

Can anyone that know's about the routing of wires and vaccume lines please contact me, i've got some pictures of the stuff and would like to try to locate where they go.

What kind of tranny fluid did you use? It has to be GL-4 @ 2.8 qts ( many people prefer pennsoil syncromesh 85/90 ) not a drop more or you will have this non shifting problem. It could also be that you need to re-adjust the clutch. Bleed the clutch multiple times and check your clutch pedal assembly. The 1g's have problems with this part when they get old. You did put a pretty heavy duty clutch on. Any particular reason why? Are you racing? Did you have the step on the flywheel machined? The grinding in the back could be something as simple as a wheel bear. But you should check the fluid level in the rear diff anyway. As for all those plug connectors keep looking you'll find there mates. Even better, post some snap shots of them. That will make it a bit easier for us to help you.
