Last night I installed by dejon L pipe and greddy type-s. Before the install, vac was a little low, but it ran perfectly besides that. After the install, it idles like shit. It dances between 500 and 600 and sounds like it's going to die. The exhaust is putting. It threw a CEL, but I won't have a chance to get the code pulled until after I get off work. At low RPM cruising, it surges.

I thought vac leak, so I went searching for them. I found a few places it was leaking and tightened everything down, and now at idle I'm at -18 inHg. The idle still sucks.

What else could cause this? I didn't use any RTV on the bov gasket, as I didn't think I needed to. It doesn't sound like it is leaking from there. I'm at a loss.

I vented my type-rs and didn't have that prob. I did have comp surge probs. But now the car won't start so I haven't go to fix the BOV problems.

I figured it out and fixed it. Pulled the code, misfire on cylinder 1. Checked wires, spark on all 4. Pulled cylinder one's plug, and it apparently decided that it didn't like having a gap anymore. The electrode was flush. Regapped to .028, runs like a charm now.

I'm confused about this, but as long as it stays fixed I'm not going to complain.

Weird things like that seem to happen to me all the time. I'll do a mod and then something completely unrelated happens.
