I just installed my AFPR and so when i start it up, i get this neat little code... P0340 Camshaft sensor bank 1. The car wont stay running either because of that code

what did i do?...

What AFRP did you install.

It doesn't seem related maybe jsut a coincidence.

If you pull the AFPR off does it still do it?

i put in the Aeromotive - fuel pressure regulator, and yes it still does it when it's out

Make sure you have the cam sensor plugged in. It could have gotten disconnected on installing it. On a 2g, the plug is right next to the AFPR. Also, clear the code and try starting it.

yeah the same thing happened to me yesterday. It would start then turn off after a few seconds. I jumped it and now it is running fine again but the check engine light is on. My friend hooked up his PDA and got the error code P0340. If anyone could help us with this problem it would be appreciated. :dsm:

That PO340 is def. the Cam Sensor code. If the cam sensor is bad you won't have spark on 2 cyl. most always but if you are running okay now it could possibly be throwing the code due to the signal voltage it is sending to the ECU (maybe low). If you have a manual it tells you how to check it and what range it should be in.

Did your friend clear the code or leave it on? If not try having it cleared and see if it comes back. Let us know!

Im not trying to steal the thread but im throwing the same code in my 95 GST but in stead of having a Cam position sensor and the Crank Angle Sensor, i put in the Cam Angle Sesnor following Road race engineerings instructions so i no longer have the the other 2 sensors because the CAS is supposed to take the signal for both. But like i said the car is throwing the P0340 code but not the crank angle sensor code.

If anyone can help that would be great.

well i just got a another one from the junk yard for $30 so ill try that and see if it works, ill let you know.
