Hey,
I have a 97 GST and my T25 recently gave out on me on the highway. I took it out and it seems to have entirely separated the turbine blades and the compressor wheel. First off, I was wondering if a T25 like this is rebuildable, or would I be better off just getting a used T25 off someone until I can afford an upgrade.
The real question, though, pertains to how I should go about fixing my car now. I took the turbo and intercooler pipes out. There was oil everywhere. Oil made it as far up as my throttle body (possibly further, I haven't taken the TB or IM off.) My question is if this would cause any damage? My stock intercooler was full of oil and drained it all out when I undid the lower intercooler pipe. If I bolt a working T25 up should I be okay, or do I need to look into cleaning the intake manifold. The piping and intercooler will be oil free when I put them back in. If it isn't too much, will it just burn out or what? This ever happen to anyone?
Thanks
Ian
