Here's the deal. I was driving down from Illinois to New Mexico last month, and after about 3 or 4 hours of 80+ highway driving, I would need to exit for gas. That's when I noticed the clutch pedal had no pressure, and the car would not want to go into gear. I would struggle thru the gears, get back onto the highway, and drive some more. Stop for gas again, same deal. I stopped for the night, and when I came out in the morning it was fine. Drive for 3 or 4 hours, back to the problem. Now I've been down here for a few weeks, and haven't had the problem resurface.I don't drive it more than an hour at a time, but I have not seen the problem again. I am getting my tax return soon, and I would like to spend the money on a fuel system upgrade, not a clutch replacement. But I don't want my clutch blowing out on me two weeks after I spend my money, you know?

As far as I know, it is a stock clutch, 117k miles, and regardless of temperature 4th gear is iffy. Clutch fluid is fine, and the car isn't leaking enough to leave puddles anywhere. This only happened after extended periods of driving. Mods are in my profile. Any suggestions?

You're loosing pressure when the fluid warms up, bleed the system.

Make sure you do the hose thing.

I'll do that, thanks!

if that doesnt work, i think its time for a clutch master cylinder. Eventually if you dont change it the problem will occur more often untill it comepletly fails.

Good one you hit the nail right on the head.

Same thing happens to me except the res, goes bone dry.

The master on mine is shot.

question... i recently bled my clutch becuase the pedel became soft every now and then, and the fluid would become real low... found some bubbles when bleeding, figure that'd cure it. it did for about a couple of weeks. and then tonight the cluth had become soft again, i went to check the fluid level and it was empty, checked the master and slave cylinder for leaks, found nothing, hoses seemed fine as well... could my cylinder be out? and where is all my fluid going too?
