ok well i had a serious issue that i had to deal with on the car it is a 91 laser 1.8
the timing is dead on and i am still having a problem
I know the plugs need changed and all and the car runs decent (sorta),but i cant get the idle down where it should be(thats the least of my worries) but now it wont rev past 4000 rpm i dont know why it acts like it has a rev limiter and i know it dont..a little advice would be appreciated!!!

thanks

Well, You said you need new spark plugs, Get them. Also, We do not have distributor caps.

His car is a 1.8... so it has a distributor cap.

To answer the question... check the timing. Yes the firing order IS 1342, in a clockwise rotation. I'm not sure if the 1 position is at 12 or 6 o'clock. You might just have to "trial and error it", it's gonna be one of those two ways. Check the ecu if this doesn't fix the problem.

I'm sure he's talking about the ignition timing, cause i just finished putting my engine back together today, and had the same problem. moved my ignition timing around, and she purrs like a kitten.
