I've had an oil leak for a while now and recently its gotten worse. I thought it was coming from the valve cover gasket because it was definatley somewhere high up, and it gets all over my belts and shoots all over the palce. but today i noticed a lot of smoke coming from my exhaust that smells like oil burning... does this make it more likely that the headgasket is leaking??

VC gasket wouldn't cause oil burning. A possiblity could be your valve guides. I know it was my problem. VC gasket would cause oil to get all over the top of your plugs and seep through the VC itself.

When i bought my talon 2 weeks ago ive noticed excess white smoke form my muffler i kinda figured i was burning too much oil so i popped my hood open and took a look and noticed the back side of my valvecover gasket was leaking oil so i pulled the spark plug wires out and noticed they were drenched in oil, so i figured if the spark plugs are covered in oil it will cause excess smoke so i changed the valve cover gasket and wires and plugs and theres alot less smoke now and it also runs alot smoother. :talon: :thumb:

thanks, ok i'll check to see if oil's gettin in my plugs...

if thats not the case... is there anything that would maek you think its the headgasket??

i checked my plug well area and theres a ton of oil there... didnt get a chance to pull out the plugs and check if oil got down there...

i'm starting to think its just the oil cap thats leaking, which is getting into the plug well which is inturn leaking out the weep hole and onto my belts splattering everywhere... at least i hope thats all it is :(

i changed the my valve cover gasket and my oil cap today, which i think will solve the oil leak problem. but i checked my plugs and it doesnt look like thats where the burning oil is coming from...

I read a bit more and i think I have the symptoms of a dead turbo. Since I installed my mbc a week ago my turbo has been screaming like a police siren. and then just a couple days ago the tail smoke started.

After i finished the valve cover gasket i fired her up and i notice now i can't build boost either...

but the wierd thing is i just checked shaft play and there was only a tiny bit. Could my turbo be blown even without shaft play?
