I got a 97 Eclipse Non turbo.
I did a compression test and it read this
210 210 220 220
Those seem kinda high?
I've been blowing some smoke when it sits still. But not sure what else to do from here!
I had a CAI on it, and the gas mileage went to hell!
Any help would be great! Thanx!
Matt :)

Forgot to add,
There is no check Engine light, When I removed the CAI the gas mileage returned, There has been a recent tune up, Fuel Filter, Plugs, wires, Coil.
Currently the only other problem is a hole in the flex pipe.
Again, Thanx for any help!

I noticed you were in PA. White smoke comes out of all our tailpipes when they sit in cold weather. It's probably just water vapor. Does it smell funny though? White smoke usually points to burning coolant, and you should be able to smell it if that's what it is. I'm betting that it's just vapor though, with your perfect compression.

Just to add a little, usually if you were burning coolant and white smoking from exhaust it would be from under the hood too. :talon:

I know I live in PA, and well aware of the white smoke that comes due to vapor. However its not white smoke. If I start the car and let it sit at idle, It will bellow whiteish blue smoke even before the weather turned. When I am driving it goes away, till I hit a stop sign of Traffic light, then I get small puffs of dark smoke.
I would think the White/blueish smoke is gas, seeing how my gas mileage dropped when I added a intake. When it should improve!
And the Darker smoke I would think to be oil! Cause I lose oil but not alot over time. It doesnt get drove much. So maybe a half quart between Oil changes.
I dont have the cash to take it to a professional! So I am going down this road alone!!

I would say the other way around. White/blueish= oil Darker= rich
