1g crank pully on a 2g

My crank pulley decided to seperate. I was wondering if there is any adverse effects of running a 1g pulley on a 2g. I noticed they are a little difference, such as the 2g has an added weight on it unlike the 1g pulley. Any more info would be greatly appreciated. I read they swap they are not the same but are swappable but was not able to find anymore info on the matter.
