talon was going about 120mph when the lower intercooler hose popped off. heard a couple of pops then the car shut down. Reattached the hose. now theres no oil pressure at all. what happened, and how do i fix it?

I drove the car about 20 miles with no oil pressure, the car ran fine accept for me dying when coming to a stop. I figure theres another intake leak, but i didnt have time to look into it. I will check the hoses again. Oil feed and return lines look ok.

Possible to have a bad oil pressure gauge? Its the stock one.

is the wire from the oilpressure sending unit connected/popped off?..i

look down by your oil filter housing you will see the sending unit for your gauge its a single wire its probobly off, its a common thing to happen hope that helps, btw check your oil before you go driving around thinking you have no oil pressure

Look for a wire that is hanging behind the driver side wheel that has a rectangular plastic end and hook it on the bottom of the oil sending unit( cylinder shape ) Here is a picture for you.
Please excuse the dirtiness..LOL

oil sending unit has the wire connected. its pretty sturdy on there (never came off). Now the car runs really crappy. It will crank and turn over, but dies right away because the rpms fall right down. there IS oil. now its seems in worse condition from when i drove it this afternoon. I will look for the leak, but i cant now with the lack of light and tools. Its dark and im stuck at work. AAA is comin' out so any replies of where to start troubleshooting would be great.

sorry man , but i agree with him. i think you should see the big picture. your intercooler pipe popped off right ? well i think your engine would be running pretty lean with all that air comin in through the pipe. your MAS doesnt see that air, it doesnt see any air. the oil pressure problems might just be pieces of something ! i dont mean to sound like a *@#%.
but you definitely need to check out the internals. at least i think. :D

so the wire going to the oil sending unit is pretty retarded. its in there, but i wiggled it around, then the oil pressure was there. ran smooth. this was for the drive home. (20 min drive). Then when i got about a mile from home, the car died again whenever i had to drop the clutch. rpms just dropped and the car stalled.

I just recently purchased a o2 sensor on the front side closest to the turbo. I was thinking I had a bad one and that was giving me the lean readings on my cheapo autometer A/F meter. I am going to put this in this evening.

Soooooo. next courses of action are to check for intake leaks (again), secure the wire to the oil sending unit, then change out the o2 sensor. if this doesnt solve the problem on a STOCK engine... crap man... do i really have to buy a new one!?

ok i noticed that the line to the oil sending unit is retarded. Its in there and not coming out anytime soon. BUT its still not reading on the stock gauge. if i wiggle it around, it will work again. Do I need a new wire for the guage? I know that the unit is working. My oil level is consistent. My oil temp is AOK. just the gauge isnt working. Anyone know a fix for this, besides a zip tie?

the intercooler pipes are after the mass airflow sensor, therefore the car would see all the incoming air, but none of it would reach the engine. this would make it run rich, not lean.

don't trust the blinky light.

good idea. check your BISS as well. I had mine back itself completely out before and the symptoms were exactly what you're describing.
