My car sounds like it has a 2step...help

Not sure if it's directly related to hitting fuel cut, as it hit cut the night before, but nothing different from all the other times it has....

Basically The car once it gets into boost past say 10psi at anything more than a cracked throttle, say 1/4 at MOST, it stops pulling and sounds like its about to launch with a 2step, like 'badadadadadadada'

So i figure, ok ill try the basics, go from there, car recieved new plugs, wires, no IC leaks, i have 12volts to my pump both in and out, signal is strong at 12 too, pulled the codes with the diagnostic (NOTHING....normal operating oder), purchased a fuel filter but havent changed it yet cause i had left my 14mm flare wrench at school OMG .... the knock sensor doenst feel like anythings wrong, the plugs looked o.k. for the most part, looked a tad lean and the one had like 1 small black spec (detonation). Also pulled the ECU to check for leakage to find nothing.

Car will rev out to 7k smoothly so long boost isnt touched.... IM CONFUSED :confused:

Anyone ever have this problem at all? Car has Buscher UICP, 2.5" turboback, rewired pump, mbc, 2g tb elbow, and i think thats about it motor wise... hacked air can..yada yada normal shit

Sounds like an Ignition problem
 
the 2600 is only a few thousand old man ;) an would have no relation

Nowhere in your troubleshooting did I see the infamous boost leak test.

You sure the plug wires going to the coilpack are in snug and tight? I had that same problem when one wire wasn't in, and it would break up around 3K

I've read many threads where people claim that there was no leak, according to a visual inspection later revealed. Make sure you do a real test, sounds very much like boost leak to me. :thumb:
 
I'll rip it back down and make sure :thumb:

Ive had bad boost leak problems before an this doesnt act nearly like one as much as it seems a spark/fuel problem ;)

Yeah, actually I hardly post here, but we're slow at work, so I jumped over here for a post or two.

I'm sticking with ignition on this one.
If it was a boost leak, it would more than likely chug and backfire under boost vs the studdering you said you were experiencing. Also if you have a logger, you'll also notice that the o2 sensor will stop cycling even with just over minimal load, basically anytime you're accelorating on or off boost, with a signifigant boost leak, you'll read your o2 voltage like you're in open loop ( WOT). I've dealt with them all :thumb:
 
i would make sure of the spark plug wires also previously mentioned. make sure the wire is able to go all the way into the coil and the boot isnt stopping it part way in. i had that after i got new wires and the car ran like ****. pulled wire out a little and now runs like a dream. easy place to start.
