The other Night i went to go to the store my car was making a strange ticking noise so i didnt drive it. I searched the forums. the noise sounded like it was coming from the timeing belt. so according to what i found i checked the tension on the tb. and it was fine then from what i found it on this site. i thought it might be coming from the A/C compressor and i checked and the belt was loose. It had no tightening screw so i tried everywhere in the town to get one but noone had a screw that worked. i cut the belt b/c i already missed a day of work. ressambled everything started the car and it sounded like metal grinding metal but not hard. i found that the crankshaft pulley was now and wasnt before (i checked it ) slightly at an angle scaping the block. i read so more forums and it said the CS pulley is faulty. Do i just need to replace the pulley Or is Something else wrong that i need to mess with?

Sorry about lenght didnt want usless awnsers from stuff i already messed with or read about on the forums. but i am missing work b/c of this i would really apreciate any responses. 97 GST minor bolt ons

Sounds like the pulley. You are right not to drive it until you replace it. It's not really that hard.

which bolts do i loosen for the motor mount

Get a sevice manual. Carefull not to turn the crank ccw, change the belts while you're at it.

I think it saves time to lower the motor.

Support from the oil pan with padded jack. Remove 2 nuts and one bolt from top of mount. Remove large horizontal bolt through center of mount. Gently lower motor until pulley bolts are accessible.

This also gives you a chance to inspect the motor mount which is prone to failure around the same time the crank pulley goes.

I didn't bother with the mount when I did my 97. It didnt take too long at all.

I used a impat gun on the 4 bolts after soaking them with PB for a few hours.....with the impact gun you elminate the chance of turning the crank the wrong way.

Then you can torque them on by using a 1/2drive extension and rachet to hold the crank in place.

yep definatly gonna want to not drive that till its fixed i had a crankpully come apart on me 2 weeks after i got a new crankshaft and what not when it crankwalked  yea and when it came apart while i was drivin the timing belt stopped turnin and the pistons smashed everyone of my valves so yea i had to take it back and get the head rebuilt right after i got it back
