This is so frustrating. My car's altenator was replaced about 30k ago with a much heavier duty than stock altenator. All winter, the belt squeeled when it was colder out. Yesterdya, the car died on me, and I had it flatbedded home. i replaced the really worn belt and charged the battery up.Car was running awesome last night. The belt is perfect tension, and really was running right.
Today, I drove 30 minutes to work, not a problem wiht the car. I tought I was all set and wouldn't have anymore problems. Well, after work, I'm driving home, and the dash lights start doing the dim->bright->dim->bright->dim thing all the way home. I pull into my driveway, shut my car off, and go to restart it, and boom. The battery is dead. Won't start at all.
Now I just got my car washed this past Friday, and began having problems Saturday evening (aside from justa squeeling worn belt).
What could be the problem?
