ok here it gose last night i was following an evo and some mustang and camaro guy to a secret spot to see the evo race them for money. while on the interstate the evo and a mustang went at it for top end so i down shifted from 4th to 3rd to keep up and not lose them i did not know where they are going and then it happend. i went to shift from 3rd to 4th and missed and went to 2nd. the rpms went to like 8000 and i put in the clutch before it went higher. after that i put it in gear and drove normal but now with any boost the knok would go up to 43counts and it would sputer. so i went to a gas station when i pulled in the car died i thought the motor was gone. i checked the oil, intercooler, piping, mass and spark plug wires everything i could at the gas station and nothin everything looked fine. so i started it and drove it home and checked the compretion it was 160 in all 4. so i thought with it reving to 8000 on stock ecu that the ecu mite be f@#ked so i changed it and took it for a drive. the bottom end is new with 1400 miles on it you can check my mod list for what i have. with what i have 8000 rpms sould not hurt the motor and i do have lifter noise so i get knock just driving normal before this happend. now the car drives fine no more knock or sputering under boost it runs like it did before. what do you think happend any help would be great ,and sorry its so long wanted to make sure i said everything that happend thanks

Punctuation, use of periods, and avoiding run on sentences wouldve got you alot more responses. I dont expect everyone to type like there writing a research paper but atleast make it so its readable. I read what you wrote and all i can say is that ive been in that situation except i was doing about 100-105 in 3rd gear and tried to put it in 4th, & it went into 2nd gear instead. My car shut off on me..and it wouldnt start back up..looks like it wanted to turn over but couldnt. However, i bent all my valves. Since u did a compression test, and u got 160 across, i dont know if yur problem lies in the head or not. You might have thrown your timing off a bit..i would check your timing.

i did not ask for comments on my typing skills and if you did not see any periods look again. mabe i did not use comma so kill me. that post is one reason why i dont like to post on here. there are a lot of pepole that post on here with out punctuation. if you have a smart ass comment pm it to me and keep it out of the thread. now back to the topic, yes i did check the timming and it was fine.

I agree..

If there's one thing i've learned about dsms it's that the car is great if you can deal with some of the people that come with them.

Quit being jerks..... this isn't a high school English course, it's a car board. If you know the answer help out but if you are going to be elite self absorbed morons, don't post.. it's that simple :thumb:

i agree with the last guy......we r not all "perfect" so lets not try to be if you can help....help, if your just gonna critisize dont bother to reply

but on that note it aint your timing belt cause it wouldnt do that then go back to normal you done fixed the problem your ecu needed to be reset and you reset it by changing it out

Obvious you don't read the rules. It's not about being an "self absorbed morons", it's about being smart when you need help. Most of the time I just skip over threads like this because it makes my head hurt, I'm sure a lot of people feels the same. Like 97ClipseDSM said, You will get more respones if it was more readable.

For those of you who can not just answer the question that is being asked, I think you should get a life... :dsm:

P.S. Hows that for punctuation you imature little shits?
First of all, the first reply to this guy's question didn't criticize, it was a simple suggestion on how to get more replies - make it more readable. If you read our rules closely, you'll see that we ask members to use proper grammar and punctuation. We would encourage users to not criticize others for grammar and punctuation, but to report the post to a moderator so they can take care of it. And we will not allow bickering over it either. If you want to complain, take it to the Site Feedback forum instead of ruining a thread like this.
