Head gasket problem

I have a 1993 Talon Tsi and i had a guy pull off the head and put a cometic head gasket and ARP head studs on, but when he put the head gasket on there was coolant between the gasket and block, he told me it would all come out when we put the haed studs in is that true or is that going to mess up my gasket or motor.

The only problem that I can see from this is that if he is too lazy to clean the mating surfaces, what else was he too lazy to do? I would be concerned that he didn't torque the bolts properly and in the correct sequence.

Crap. I would have handed him a rag if I was there. That is trifling.

Yes he is lazy as hell, he just took off and left my car unfinished and i have not seen him sence. thanks for the response!
